President:

Name: Anthony Vincent

What do you feel are your qualifications for this position?

Although each task is new, I have successfully helped run many school/ non-school organizations. I have been a committee chair on the town Relay for Life board, a leader at a local youth group, and managed aspects of a local cancer event helping a young teen with cancer. I have also been an officer in a Club called Interact. I also was chosen/sponsored by the Local Rotary Club to go to an international leadership conference for 3 days.

What do you feel would be the most important aspect of the position?

Since this is the founding class of ALD at Stockton, I feel the most important aspect of this position is to set a solid foundation which classes after us may follow and to be remembered!

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

Like any other college student, we all have commitments and daily things we do, but I will give my all in making ALD the awesome honor society we all aspire it to be.

How do you think you could personally promote activity within ALD?

I believe to be a productive honor society we need to have a purpose in mind and set goals to achieve; all while having fun and understanding the rigors of each other’s courses. I understand this isn’t the only thing everyone does in their lives, but we will make a goal, strive to achieve it, and demonstrate the character of the Founding Class of A.L.D. I do have a great plan which has been reviewed by professors that would involve all of our friends from college and saving energy from dorm to dorm, that I believe could be accomplished by such a great body of honorable students.

Name: Caryn M. Sanfilippo

What do you feel are your qualifications for this position?

I am… Organized, Productive, Creative, Always eager and ready to work, Full of new ideas, Don’t always need to be right, Open to hearing others interests and ideas, Great with working as a team, I have managed before, Have worked on team building in Washington, I have always put my best work and foot forward, And I am always willing to admit when help is needed.

What do you feel would be the most important aspect of the position?

Keeping the other members involved in the club, fundraising, Introducing the club to potential new members, and identifying what the club can do to give back to the community and the college.

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

I am willing to do anything I can to help the club with decision making, attending meetings for the club, and any other activities that the club decides is important. The President is meant to be a representative for the group as a whole, not to dictate, but to make sure that everyone is staying involved with the group and contributing.

How do you think you could personally promote activity within ALD?

The activities that the club will participate in will be based on what the group would like to do. For example, if the group would like to go on a trip, I would overlook that the details of the trip and go over all of the fine tuning, I will inform every member about the trip and what it would consist of. As far as everything else, I will work closely with the other board members and the club to assure the best trip as possible.

Name: Gabriella Marrone

What do you feel are your qualifications for this position?

I believe that I have many qualifications that would benefit ALD as a whole. I have strong leadership skills which I tend to use daily as an RA on the freshmen side.  I work very well with large groups of people and I love working with others. If I were to be president of ALD I would feed off of feedback of the club’s members; it would not solely be run by me. I am also involved in many other clubs and organizations on campus which means I am very well rounded and know an abundant amount of people at Stockton. I am a sister of Delta Delta Delta sorority, as well as the historian of Stockton Acappella, where I am a proud member of not only one, but two acappella groups: Stockata and Stockapella. As already mentioned, I am also an RA on the freshmen side of campus which is probably the highlight of my college career to date. Being an RA enables me to help and educate the new and confused freshmen, use my leadership skills in creating programs and keeping my floor organized, all while teaching and endursing the rules of the freshmen side. I am also a member of the Speech Pathology and Audiology club and am a new member to Stockton’s Ultimate Frisbee team! As you can probably tell, I am very involved on campus and I still feel that I need to be involved in more. Being president of ALD would help make my career at Stockton more successful and would mean so much to me! When I was asked by my complex director in the beginning of the semester to name a goal of mine for this school year, I answered with “to hold more executive positions”. By becoming president of ALD, I would happily be crossing off one more thing on my “TO DO” list for my sophomore year of college!

What do you feel would be the most important aspect of the position?

I believe that the most important aspect of the position, specificially this year, would be to get the organization publicized and known to the campus. Because it is a new addition to Stockton, ALD will need to become recognized throughout the campus to promote freshman to work even harder within their studies so they can aim to be a member of ALD one day. By achieving this goal, ALD will have to work together to form some creative ideas on how to publicize the organization throughout campus. But before this even happens, a very important aspect of being president would be to unify the group and to try the very best to make ALD like a family. From prior experiences as an RA and a member of a sorority, I have many ideas and “ice breakers”, and not the boring, awkward kinds, that will help the new members of ALD to get to know each other a bit better. In order for this new organization to be successful, we must all take pride in it and support each other in what we do. If members actually enjoy coming to meetings and events that we hold, more and more students at Stockton would try to get their grades up just to join the fun!

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

Because I am involved in so many clubs and organizations at Stockton, many people may be skeptical as to how I can manage my time if I were to become president of ALD. However, those people haven’t known me my whole life. I have been involved and active in school since middle school. I am always busy, but I am more than adapted to it by now – it’s a lifestyle. If I’m not busy, I really don’t know what to do with myself other than to sit in bed and hope that tomorrow will be a busier day. With that, I will be as dedicated as I possibly could to ALD and its future at Stockton. I will do my very best to hold events hosted by our organization as well as personally promote activity within ALD. As president, I will set standards and goals for myself that I promise to never break to benefit the function and success of ALD. I would also do my very best to get to personally know all of the members of the organization as well as to try my best to get them involved in any way that they desire. I will also work very closely with the other executive positions to assist in every way to make ALD a success. Commitment is key to success and I promise to be fully commited to ALD as president.

How do you think you could personally promote activity within ALD?

Promoting activity within ALD would be one of my primary goals as president. It would be my goal to make ALD a fun and eventful organization. The last thing that anyone would want is to come to a dull meeting and regret even attending. I would try to make every meeting entertaining while also getting requirements accomplished. One event that I already have in mind is to hire a public motivational speaker to come to Stockton and to hold a huge event in his name. His name is Josh Sunquist and he came to my high school and was a huge hit! Everyone left that auditorium with a smile on their faces feeling as motivated as ever. It would be amazing if ALD to get him to speak at Stockton and for us to sponsor the event. It would allow our name to be publicized throughout the school and the community and would be a huge success! Although I have many ideas up my sleeve already, I can’t get ahead of myself. I really hope to become ALD’s first president and help this new organization grow!

Name: Melanie Anderson

What do you feel are your qualifications for this position?

I feel that I am qualified for this position because I was President of Biology Club in high school and I was also Activities Coordinator of Student Government in high school as well. At Stockton, I am extremely involved in clubs and activities and I was the freshmen Academic Chair of my sorority. I am very prompt, organized, congenial, and I will always put my best foot forward. Grades are extremely important to me and I want to succeed and help others succeed as well. I always put others before myself and I will continue to do this if elected President of ALD. I hope to be more than just a President, I want to be a friend that members of this organization can come to talk to if they ever have a problem or need advice. I want to have far reaching effects while holding this position.

What do you feel would be the most important aspect of the position?

The most important aspect of this position would be making sure that ALD has far reaching effects on Stockton and the community. I want ALD to be more than just a club with a sign in sheet, I want to help others and set a great example for other Stockton students. I want ALD to have a positive reputation as being extremely beneficial to the society and the school, not only a club of kids who get good grades.

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

I am willing to make complete commitment to the position of President. I live on campus and am always available because I do not have a job. Also, if the need ever arose that I had to go home, I only live 25 minutes away. I will be here and willing to help others and promote ALD whenever it is necessary. I am a hard worker and will make sure that my hard work and dedication is seen in my position of President.

How do you think you could personally promote activity within ALD?

Personally, I could promote activity within ALD by being an enthusiastic leader and setting attainable goals that would promote our program. Team building activities, volunteer events, and activities involving other Stockton clubs and organizations are just a few of the ideas that I have in mind in order to promote activity within ALD.

Name: Taylor Kneib

What do you feel are your qualifications for this position?

I have the time and energy ALD requires if I were to take the position of president. I enjoy being involved and feel that I could promote ALD in a positive manner and give us the recognition we deserve. I am a very outgoing person and believe I could attract others who meet the standards to become part of ALD. I am also very organized and believe that ALD will be a success if everyone works together.

What do you feel would be the most important aspect of the position?

The most important aspect of the position of president is to know what the purpose and goals of ALD are and to promote and perform them throughout Stockton. Another important aspect is making sure activities are carried out and hopefully very successful. By brainstorming and listening to others idea, ALD could accomplish great projects.

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

I am willing to focus all my time into ALD. I am not involved with many other organizations on campus and feel that I am able to give this position all my time. I plan on making the first year of ALD a success. I plan on being organized, listen to each member’s idea, and put into actions the ideas we brainstorm.

How do you think you could personally promote activity within ALD?

To promote an activity within ALD, we could table and hang up flyers among campus. We could also use the tool of social media by letting others know of upcoming activities. By the use of Facebook and twitter we could reach many students of Stockton College.

Vice President:

Name: Abigail Bielecke

What do you feel are your qualifications for this position?

I am extremely organized, responsible and driven. I am the former vice president of my high school’s chapter of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). I also held an officer position last year in Stockton’s Photography Club.

What do you feel would be the most important aspect of the position?

The most important aspect of the position would be taking over the president’s position if that was necessary.  Hopefully they would be able to hold their title, so then my next important duty would be to know information about the honor society and our chapter specifically. If people had questions, I would want to be able to answer them.

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

I will commit a large amount of time into ALD. I am willing to do this because I am aware of how much of an honor it is to be invited to join. It will stay with me through life, and it is proof that I worked hard academically and that will continue.

How do you think you could personally promote activity within ALD?

To promote activity, I would try to set up multiple fundraisers to support anything we wanted to do as a group. We could even get other clubs and school organizations involved to work fundraisers or even volunteer.

Name: Douglas Farrell

What do you feel are your qualifications for this position?

A vice president must be responsible, charismatic, ambitious, and personable. My experience as a front end manager for ACME markets has developed me as a responsible and personable individual. During this position I was responsible of the circulation of capital, managing the cashiers as well as baggers, as well as regulating customer relations at the customer service desk. Through the experience of dealing with unique personalities, and the responsbilites of capital I have developed the previous mentioned skills.  Also, as of recent, I have been situated into a Resident Assistant position at the freshman residence halls. The responsibilities acquired by the residential assistant position include regulating a floor of 17 freshmen residents, office hours, complex safety checks, programming, as well as maintaining the grades needed for the admission into medical school. I believe that my aspirations of medical school, as well as the vice president position exhibits the ambition I possess to create a successful future for myself and those who surround me.

What do you feel would be the most important aspect of the position?

Not only should a vice president be prepared to step into the president position, due to his/her absence, but a vice president should have a large impression on the direction of the society. A vice president should work closely with the president, as well as other officers, to create a successful path for the society to follow. Being able to work well with the president is probably the most important aspect of the vice president position. In order for an efficient executive office the president and vice president need to be able to have effective communication, similar ambitions, as well as collectively have an image for the society. Although the two do not need to have 100% agreement on each aspect of the organization, the vice president should be able to make agreements with the president in order to create a path for the society to move toward a direction of success.

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

As a dedicated individual, I can keep a promise to put forth complete effort into the vice president position. I believe that if you cannot give people 100% effort then you should not attempt to give anything less. Currently, I possess a heavy schedule, but I would not apply for this position if I thought I could not give the best of my effort. My heavy workload consists of a residential assistant position, a teacher assistant position, participation in the pre-medical club, and most importantly, my obligations as a student of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. I perform these tasks to the highest level of my potential and have currently performed to high standards.

How do you think you could personally promote activity within ALD?

As a personable individual I am engaging into the interests of others. By tapping into the interests of others the encouragement of activity can be obtained.  I believe if somebody has an interest they will attempt activity related to that subject to the fullest of their potential. By interconnecting and portraying a socially outgoing personality I believe I can successfully promote activity within ALD society. I incorporate the interests of residents during programming. By incorporating their interests into programs, I obtain high participation, as well as positive feedback. This tactic has worked previously and will continue to work as others prefer to pursue their interests.

I could personally promote activities within ALD by my influence in sports and other clubs on Stockton’s campus. As a Student-Athlete I already am in the light of my peers and people in Stockton community because people I may not know know who I am. This great power has and will come with great responsibility, which with my grades and athletic performance I have proved. With so many people knowing who I am if I was president or vice president of the ALD that a way that people at least will hear about ALD or even become interested (If they already are not). Clubs at Stockton I attend M.A.L.E.S, NAACP as well as other events on campus, with my attendance to these clubs I have the opportunity to meet a lot of influential student and staff on Stockton campus. Name: Heather Dodson

What do you feel are your qualifications for this position?

Last year, as a member of Stockton Circle K, I was a member of the scrapbook committee; I played an important role in a leadership position and I loved it. I am strong-willed and a very hard worker. I enjoy officer positions because they give me a feeling of significance, and I would definitely live up to all the expectations of the ALD Editor.

What do you feel would be the most important aspect of the position?

Since ALD is a NATIONAL honor society, I think the relationship between the Stockton chapter and rest of the chapters all over America is very important. Distributing The Flame would help to inform Stockton members of what’s going on among other chapters, but since it’s a national honor society and not a cult, we would also like to keep the rest of the Stockton community informed by frequently submitting articles to medias such as The Argo. Spreading awareness in such ways is crucial to success of charity and other events that ALD may run.

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

I am willing to commit 100% of myself to this position. I’ve been in clubs where the officers think it’s okay to skip meetings and break promises, which really hurts the success and morale of the organization; that is not okay! I would do everything in my personal power to do what’s best for ALD and make what needs to happen, happen.

How do you think you could personally promote activity within ALD?

Being a very energetic person myself, I would try to get everyone in ALD excited for and involved in our activities. I have some really amazing ideas for events that ALD could participate in, and I would also focus on listening to the ideas that the general members have as well. I’d promote meeting dates through email, Facebook and word-of-mouth in order to get maximum attendance every time, which would be key to getting as many members as possible involved.

What do you feel would be the most important aspect of the position?

The most important part of this job would be to keep membership records and mailing lists organized. The website is also important, but this Honor Society is a big deal and those who were accepted into it deserve to have up-to-date info and deserve to be included in the society’s records.

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

I am willing to continuously update the webpage and take responsibility for keeping everyone updated through emails and any other communication.

How do you think you could personally promote activity within ALD?

For this position, I feel that being a quick way to keep everyone up to date on what is currently going on in and/or with the club is a very important aspect. Nowadays, everyone has access to a computer, and having this as a means of communication is very useful and reliable, not only for in-chapter communication, but also for club advertisement.

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

I always put one-hundred percent towards everything that I commit myself to. I will place this chapter and its needs first and foremost in my responsibilities and will actively work towards not only improving my own work as a board member, but also towards improving our chapter of ALD, the experience of our members, and our commitment to our campus.

Name: Stephanie Medvetz

What do you feel are your qualifications for this position?

During my high school career, I was assistant historian for an organization called Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). I am familiar with the position and can accurately perform the duties associated with this position to ensure that the Historian’s tasks are completely fulfilled with accuracy.

What do you feel would be the most important aspect of the position?

I feel the most important aspect of the position of Historian is to keep an accurate and descriptive record of the Chapter’s events. If one event works really well for us, all aspects of the event should be recorded for future use. It should also be attractive (i.e. pictures, flyers, etc.) to remember and memorialize the event that everyone worked so hard for. Whether it is a charity event to help others, or a fundraiser for the Honor Society itself, it is important to keep informative records to ensure that said events run smoothly again in future years.

What type of commitment are you willing to make to the position?

I am willing to put in full commitment as Historian for ALD. I love getting involved in important clubs and organization, especially those that involve community service. I am not only willing, but excited to be a part of a great organization that can host events for the entire student body to learn and become involved.

How do you think you could personally promote activity within ALD?

I can personally promote activity within ALD by coming up with events that would be beneficial to the organization. There are so many local service projects, such as Beach Sweep, and helping out at Atlantic City’s homeless center, that we could get involved in ‘to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals in society’. I personally am very excited to be a part of such great events, and I believe my own uplifting attitude will allow others students to feel the same way and be a part of something great. All of these events we would participate in would be a great way to build on the history of our Chapter. I will be sure to capture all of the details fully in order to remember the great things we have accomplished, and the wonderful things that future students can look forward to in improving our community.
